Together we create a community of good neighbors

Form of Government at the Keizer Fire District

Keizer Fire District is a non-partisan form of government. Five board members are each elected directly by the people for staggered four-year terms. All represent the community at large. The Board of Directors establishes Fire District policy by passing ordinances and resolutions. The Board also adopts the district budget, approves appropriations, contracts in the District’s name, and levies taxes.

Board of Director Meetings

The Board of Directors encourages citizens to come to regular Board meetings. They normally meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm in the Board Room of the Keizer Fire District building.

Get Involved!

Guest Input… is a feature of each regular Board meeting to provide citizens with an opportunity to address the Board about issues not on the formal agenda.

Statements by members of the public should be brief and concise. A time limit of five (5) minutes will be allotted to an individual or a member of a group. When you address the Board, please clearly state your name, address and topic for the record. The Board may, at its discretion, require that the proposal, inquiry, or request be submitted in writing, and reserve the right to refer the matter to administrative staff for action, or for study at a subsequent meeting. The Board will not hear complaints concerning specific Fire District personnel.

Agenda: includes specific items which may include briefings by staff or regional representatives; presentations; proclamations; resolutions; ordinances; board appointments and specific documents to be recorded for the record, such as legal cases, election result confirmations, etc.

Minutes: of the Regular Board Meetings are not verbatim. They are “action” minutes only. The Board of Directors welcome you to review the minutes of their recent meetings, and encourage your active participation in the agenda of their next scheduled gathering.

Upon request, auxiliary aids and/or special services will be provided. To request services, please contact us at 503-390-9111 or through Oregon Relay 1-800-735-2900 at least two working days (48 hours) in advance.
