Keizer Fire District Volunteers

We appreciate the involvement of the community members in our delivery of emergency

As a combination Fire District (a combination of volunteer and career members) we rely

on volunteer members to be extremely involved in our District’s operation and delivery

of services. We train all members of the Fire District to perform as team members with a

high degree of proficiency. We require all new members to attend our Recruit Firefighter

training academy, regardless of past training and or experience. This is done in order to

solidify the team concept and provide the opportunity for the new members to learn our

District operations and its personnel.

The Volunteer Firefighters Association is also a very active association and you can

view more information on their website located at They are involved

in many community events and maintain a full social schedule for the

New Recruits and Employees being sworn in by State Fire Marshal Jim Walker

We know that being a volunteer member of this Fire District requires a

large commitment of a person’s time and effort; however, we also know that the membership

receives a true sense of community service and a high level of support from within the

membership and the citizens of this community.

We have tried to provide you with the necessary information to help you decide if you

are interested and able to commit the time and effort needed to become a volunteer

member of Keizer Fire District.
